I am a 46 year old woman.. that had Hashimotos Thyroidisits, subsequently I had a total thyroidectomy and it was cancerous. I have struggled with my weight since this journey began. My endocrinologist has suggested I consider gastric bypass as to prevent future comorbidities as the synthetic throid hormone does not allow me to control my weight as well.
I am 5-4 and weigh 200-215 pounds… depending upon the day. I remember when I was 125 and felt healthy and vital. Now I just feel tired and hurt all the time as the weight is so much to carry.
Please advise.

Dear Papia
You can definitely be helped by bariatric surgery. It will also probably make sense to you that our patients after surgery not only lose significant weight they also become more confident in personal and professional front. Weight loss after bariatric surgery takes about 6 months to attain most of your target. The expenses can range from 2- 4 lakhs rupees approximately. What you have to do is call 98300 08668 or email me at docsarfarazbaig@yahoo.co.in for an appointment to take this forward. As they say, a call can change your life.
Dear Dr. My nephew is of 18years, height 68inch, weight 115Kg. He is not very keen to excercises and fond of computer. He has a history of respiratory/asthamatic problems occasionaly. What should be the best possible way to get him healthy and fit. How much time will be required for him to be fit and healthy after undergoing the best procedure you reccommend. What will be the cost for the wholistic approach? Is there any risk? Please advise.
Dear Mr Gupta
Your nephew does appear to be a candidate who can benefit from bariatric surgery. His respiratory complaint needs to be assessed- whether it is asthma or restrictive lung disease secondary to obesity. In the latter situation his breathing difficulty may actually get resolved. Since bariatric surgery is done laparoscopically (through holes and not by incisions) the recovery is remarkably fast. Most patients can resume normal work in a week. To know more comprehensively regarding the procedure, you can take an appointment with me at 98300 08668/ 98307 51420 or with Dr Ramana at 98300 31663.
I was oprated on 6 weeks ago for sleeve gastrectomy, I have lost 5 kg weight in first 2 weeks, and it’s been 4 weeks now since i did not loose any weight or inches. I dont know what else to do any more about my weight.I am doing exercise [4 TIMES A WEEK WITH TRAINER ].and follwing my diet chart
Could you please help my ,i dont want to give up.
Anita Bhatia.
Anita: The best thing to do would be to talk to your surgeon as to why this is happening. Without knowing your details (beginning weight, procedure details, etc) it is impossible to say for sure if there is anything going wrong. OF course, you should not even think of giving up! Best of luck. If you reach a point of no return, we would be happy to offer professional help.
